The transformation is generally in the principles of reliable operation, economical running, advanced performance, convenient transportation, and compliance with HSE requirements. The system is explosion, shock, moisture and water proof and in line with the requirements for safe operation.
Network electrification transformation of drilling rig is mainly based on power supply of 35KV or 10KV high-voltage grid in oilfield, and also takes geographical environment, layout of high-voltage grid, characteristics of configuration and operational electrical load of former drilling rig in different oilfields into consideration.
The electrification transformation will be practiced only for back power unit and electric system (high-voltage electric transformer & distribution and electric control system) of drilling rig, and others will remain the same.
The 35KV/0.6KV moving high-voltage transformer and distribution system transforms the power supply of high-voltage grid in the area of oilfield into electricity of 0.6KV; asynchronous motor that is started up by the intelligent electronic soft starter and hydraulic governor box provide power for the drilling rig. Electricity for 0.4KV MCC/VFD system of drilling rig is supplied by 0.6KV/0.4KV/1250KVA dry-type transformer. In case of the industrial grid failure, the 400V auxiliary generator unit will be used to supply power for the systems in two ways, one directly to the MCC/VFD system of drilling rig and the other to a high-voltage AC motor via the transformer, so that the drilling rig can still operate in case of an emergency.
Consisting of integrated skid mounted power unit and electric system designed for two power rooms, the system is available for hoisting and dragging, and meets the control requirements for moving substation, electric control module, PSTB-series intelligent soft starter of AC motor, moving electric control room, low- and high-voltage cable laying, and emergency power system.
